care

our philosophy

One of the best decisions that you can make for yourself and your household is to start properly taking care of the things that surround you.

Regardless, if we are talking about a piece of furniture, or your favorite cashmere sweater, treating any item with care is the first step for a mindful lifestyle.

Appreciating the value, uniqueness and practicality of your garments will bring you joy and peace with the objects that you cherish.

When you are buying any item from our collection, you are investing in quality over quantity, timeless items over trends that come and go, consciously made garments developed with the highest standards of material sourcing and production.

This is why we encourage you to take care of your garments carefully, so it will continue to serve these purposes for many years.

To help you with this process, we have created a care guide to properly preserve your knitwear garments.

the washing process

You can wash your knitwear sweaters in the washing machine or, as recomended, by hand.

In any case, first, check the instructions on the garment’s label.

Be sure to set your washing machine on a gentle or delicate cycle program at 30º.

Another truly important part of the washing process is the detergent you will use.

The best choice will be a shampoo that is especially designed for washing cashmere, mild soap with a low PH level, or even baby shampoo.

The other more safe and smart alternative will be to wash your sweaters by hand.

Use cool water and towards the end of the cleaning process switch to cold water.

Do not wring
the sweater,
just gently
squeeze the
water and roll it
up
in a towel to get
the rest of the
water out.

the drying process

We would vote not to dry all of your knitwear in
the dryer, especially your cashmere ones.
Every fabric is different and heat will have a
different effect on it.
But to be on the safe side, better lay the sweater
flat on a drying rack and
let it dry naturally or roll it in a dry tower.

This way, your favorite knitwear piece will not shrink or lose its original shape.
The process of cashmere bobbling, snags, and different types of dirt.
We know how this may sond like you have a pet and you need to pet him, clean him, and brush him regularly.
Well, your cashmere sweater deserves the same kind of love.

You cannot escape the bobbling process,
which usually occurs when you wear your
sweater for some time.
The best thing you can do is to shave your knitwear garment with a razor or use a clothes shaver.
Do regular checkups on your sweaters and as soon as you spot one of these tiny balls of fabric, shave them immediately, so you will stop them from spreading. Snags are also another type of annoying little stitches that come out of your knitwear. You can resolve this problem pretty easily by putting them inside the sweater; you can use a safety pin to do the trick.

the storage

Storing properly your knitwear garments is equally as important as any other process. And is a step that is often forgotten of its importance.

The most important rule would be to never hang your knitwear items, always fold them carefully.

If possible, don’t store heavy items on top of your knitwear, this way you ensure they will stay light and fluffy.

For even further care, we recommend you to store your garments inside the linen bags that come with each order.
This will prevent them from functioning with one another and avoid the pilling effect we talked about previously.

It is a good idea as well to let your pieces rest a day or two between uses.

Now with all these recommendations in mind, the only thing left is to enjoy your leap knitwear for many years and experiences!

Leap Concept stands for sophisticated knitwear design, sustainability and innovation. We have garnered a loyal emphasis on elevated lifestyle essentials with intention to build a wardrobe instead of renewing it. Each collection is defined by a minimalist assortment, building blocks imbued with an artfully elegant point of difference and texturally rich approach.
